Il Writing, talvolta chiamato erroneamente Graffitismo, è una manifestazione sociale, culturale e artistica diffusa in tutto il pianeta, basata sull'espressione della propria creatività tramite interventi sul tessuto urbano. Correlata ad essa sono gli atti dello scrivere il proprio nome d'arte (tag) diffondendolo come fosse un logo. Il fenomeno prende le mosse dalla pittura murale (murales - disegni su muro), e viene spesso associato ad atti di vandalismo, poiché numerosi adepti utilizzano come supporti espressivi mezzi pubblici o edifici di interesse storico e artistico. Generalmente, il nocciolo di writer più vicini ad un serio lavoro di ricerca artistica considerano tali attività deprecabili, dimostrando anche nella scelta del supporto per la pittura una maggiore responsabilità e consapevolezza. Resta tuttavia una gran quantità di adolescenti, chiamati nello slang sucker, poser, scarsi, scrausi, estimatori, rimastini e quant'altro, che producono solamente trafile di tag, o al massimo throw ups (ovvero tag più elaborate eseguibili in breve tempo) al fine di promuovere il loro nome. Uno tra i più influenti writer della storia e teorico del movimento aerosol art internazionale, Phase II, scriveva nel 1999 in un articolo su Aelle, rivista specializzata ora non più alle stampe, "...throw-up: spingere il proprio nome oppure vomito?".

Nel corso degli anni molti artisti hanno comunque maturato nuove tendenze creative per cui, pur mantenendo radici nel "Graffiti Writing", si è riusciti a sconfinare nella tipografia, nel design, nell'abbigliamento, contaminando il tipico stile degli anni '80 con ideali più razionali e vicini alla grafica. Si parla di tendenze artistiche "Post-Graffiti" in particolare riferendosi alla Street Art, e di Graffiti Design per le influenze oramai evidenti nelle tecniche pubblicitarie e nella moda. È possibile affermare che molti Artisti oramai integrati nel sistema convenzionale del Mercato dell'Arte, traggono il loro valore da esperienze precedenti spesso formalmente illegali. Non è una novità osservando i risvolti delle Avanguardie di primo Novecento, oppure gli happenings degli anni Settanta, tuttavia movimenti del genere non avevano mai raggiunto una scala globale. Il confine fra Arte e Vandalismo e tra Fascino e Illegalità contiene quindi una vasta gamma di sfumature, e ad illuminare il pubblico, spesso capace di interpretare correttamente gli stilemi ed i concetti proposti, ci hanno pensato artisti e designer ormai di fama internazionale come il tedesco Mirko Daim Reissler, l'inglese Banksy, i francesi 123 Klan, lo spagnolo La Mano, l'olandese Neck, l'italiano Eron, volutamente evitando la scena americana, totalmente diversa da quella europea. In Italia possiamo citare (seguendo criteri qualitativi, non quantitativi, e successiva evoluzione e prosecuzione nell'arte o nel design), nella vecchia scuola, Blef da Genova, The Damage Kidz da Milano, Bol23 da Roma, Cento e Zero-T da Firenze, FlyCat da Milano. Per quel che riguarda invece il "bombardare", chi quantitativamente ha più "lasciato il suo segno" (con tag, flop, pezzi) su qualunque tipo di superficie sono i Fia e i VMD70S per quel che riguarda Milano (anche se hanno "colonizzato molte parti d'Italia", i DIA-UHT a Napoli.

fundamental son para espacios públicos, obras que sirven para que
grandes cantidades de personas puedan apreciar las obras que en ellas
se trazan. Los temas ocupados en su mayoría son temas sociales,
aunque tanto el diseño, formato, estilo, etc., son de libre elección.

Uno dei preferiti artisti di strada, Invader, è venuto dallA da Francia e recentemente ha avuto un minuto per spiegare il suo nuovo Codice Binario arte di strada.Utilizza i nuovi media hi-tech Codice Binario tecnologia combinata con il suo marchio LO-tech di piastrelle di ceramica di lavoro come si è visto in tutti i centri urbani di tutto il mondo. Questo stile di opere d'arte è tra le più avanzate e concettualmente interessante in tutto il mondo. Invader ha sicuramente continuato a portarlo al livello successivo con questa ultima versione di sviluppo. Non c'è dubbio che se si presta attenzione alla strada d'arte. Ha lavorato per le strade di Francia per molti anni, e il suo lavoro è tra i più riconoscibili, se non del tutto comprensibile. Ora, con una semplice applicazione chiamato iPhone, I-Matrix, (ora noto come BeeTagg), è possibile tradurre il significato nascosto dietro la sua strada d'arte. Dealing with Christmas Blaahhs

Christmas Blaahhhs.

Okay, so it’s the holidays, this can be a tricky time of year, especially when you are homeless or poor. Watch the video to get some suggestions about how to cope with this time of year.

If you choose to drink, remember that alcohol is depressant meanings it can make you feel worse and even heighten symptoms of depression.

Be safe if using substances, when we feel shitty, we can make poor decisions, ones that we would not generally make. Don’t use feeling depressed about the holidays as an excuse to use excessively, unsafe or alone.

If you don’t want to be alone, find out what is going on in your community. Drop-in centres, support groups, church or other community resources are available over Christmas. The best free meals in every city happen around this time of year and several resources provide holiday parties, hampers and gifts.

The media would have us believe that at this time of year perfect families get together over the perfect meal to have a perfect time together. This is not the reality. These images are designed to make you want to buy stuff you don’t need or want, see them for what they are and don’t compare yourself or your situation to what we see in advertising.

Remember you are valued and appreciated. People care about you.

The Christmas season can be tough, but hang on; it only lasts a few weeks.

Illegal Evictions in the Downtown Eastside

On Friday November 23rd, community activists, residents, tenants and local politicians came out to voice their concern over another illegal eviction in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The newest hotel, the Dominion, is being turned from a Single Room Occupancy hotel to a "chic boutique" just in time for the 2010 Olympic games. All residents will be out on the streets come December 31st. Spread the word about these illegal evictions, say NO to the gentrification of the eastside!
